Position Summary
Heath Ceramics is seeking a dynamic, strategic leader to join us as Director of Trade, driving the next chapter of growth for our B2B programs. This role is a unique opportunity for a builder who thrives at the intersection of strategy, relationship-driven sales, and operational execution and who is passionate about the design, corporate, and hospitality worlds. This role reports to Heath’s Vice President of Sales.  

Position Responsibilities

Strategic Growth & Sales Leadership:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve significant growth in the Trade program over the next three years 
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the Design Professional, Corporate Gifting, and Hospitality sectors 
  • Create and execute effective sales programs to increase brand awareness, enhance perception, and generate sales 
  • Develop annual pricing and sales strategies in collaboration with the VP of Sales and VP of Finance 
  • Own and evolve the Trade program structure, including terms, discounting tiers, account onboarding, and customer lifecycle tools 

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Design, Marketing, Inventory Planning, Operations, Digital Experience, Merchandising, and Technology teams to ensure alignment and support for B2B initiatives 
  • Collaborate with:
    • Digital Experience teams on online shopper experience and content strategy 
    • Design team on product development and assortment strategy 
    • Director of Retail and Director of Tile
    • Marketing teams on channel-specific programs and brand positioning 
    • Technology teams on e-commerce and system integrations 
    • Operations teams on B2B specific fulfillment and customer service needs 
    • Define business requirements for B2B tools and support implementation of Trade-specific CRM, quoting, and ordering systems in collaboration with IT 

Team Management & Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee and manage a small but growing team, providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance 
  • Dive into the operational complexities of the B2B business, ensuring seamless execution and measurable results 
  • Maintain ownership and oversee growth of new business accounts to contribute to the overall success and incremental growth of the department 

Analytical Decision-Making & Financial Oversight:

  • Drive analytical decision-making through:
    • Demand planning and forecasting 
    • Sales performance analytics 
    • Sector profitability analysis 
  • Own the P&L of the Trade division 

Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in home goods, design, hospitality, or a related industry.
  • Proven track record of success in B2B sales, preferably within the design, corporate gifting, or hospitality industries 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic sales plans and achieving significant revenue growth 
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, customer relationship management, and market analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting 
  • Experience managing a P&L 
  • Experience with forecasting 
  • Experience leading a team

Work Environment, Hours, & Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt position, typically Monday through Friday. While we embrace a hybrid work model, in-person collaboration is a valued part of our culture. This role is based out of our San Francisco offices in the Mission District, with periodic travel to our Sausalito location and occasional visits to our Los Angeles showroom. Up to two remote workdays per week are available. The salary range for this position is $150,000 – $160,000, based on experience. 

Only Bay Area candidates will be considered.
